After a couple of weeks of use, I'm satisfied with this bag. It's big enough to carry all the things I need when I'm out of the office and seems to be well-made. It's got that "new leather" smell, which I like. My last bag lasted over a decade; I'm hoping this one will too. The color isn't close to the picture on the website. That was a huge letdown when I opened it. Hopefully, the color will change with use. It should have been packaged better for shipping. Pros: - Lots of space. - Side pocket holds my Stanley flask perfectly. - Cloth interior and padded PC pocket Cons: - The color is much brighter (and feminine) than shown on the website - The strap is too thin and cuts into your shoulder. - It was shipped in a plastic bag wrapped in tissue paper. That felt careless and cheap.

After several years the lining shows threads at the edge, just hit them with a cigarette lighter and the lining is like new again.

This is a wonderful bag it has a strength that I enjoy. And it appears that it will will last many years.
I've used the briefcase for about a month now. I like the look and feel. I'm able to "load it up" and organize it with no problems. My only gripe is the shoulder strap is about a mile long. I need to maybe have the excess trimmed off. I also have to "buckle up" if I want to use the handle or shoulder strap and not have it open up.
I love the feel, look and smell of it. I planned on buying more stuff in the future

Over a year now with my bag. I am completely satisfied. It has broken in nicely and is still in absolute great condition for a very professional appearance. I absolutely love my bag! James Leather's customer service was excellent! Initially, my bag was set to arrive on July 12, but it didn’t come. I contacted customer service after a week, and they replied the next day. They asked for some patients, which was very fair considering all mail seems to be arriving late. The briefcase is everything the ad said it would be! The leather is perfect, not one blemished piece. The brass hardware is sturdy and properly fixed to the leather. The instructions said it needed no care, but I conditioned it with Lexol anyway. I AM a happy owner!

This bag is awesome! High quality and I’ve received numerous comments on how great it looks! Only drawback is the shoulder strap is way too long. I had to punch in 4 additional holes in order to shorten up the strap. Other than that, this bag is perfect. Fits my large laptop easily. I bought the 18” bag.

Quality construction, good bag. A bit disappointed by the appearance—the photos suggest a raw, rugged leather look, I received a very ‘normal’ leather exterior. Interior is canvas, not extraordinary, but sufficient. In fairness, I’ve looked at these bags for several months and have probably romanticized the rugged, tough, saddle-bag looking bag more that James leather advertised. Hoping the bag looks better with use

I'm only giving it 3 stars because my husband loves this bag (otherwise I would have sent it back and rated it a "1") and apparently he doesn't have the same sense of smell that I have. This bag STINKS like stale food. It's a strong smell that permeates his car and the part of the kitchen where he parks the bag every night. We tried airing it out. But after 8 months, it still stinks as badly as it did on the first day. And, no, it doesn't smell like fine leather!
